Giles Brand - Managing Partner
Giles is the founder and Managing Partner of EPE. Since 2001, Giles has led over 30 buyout, turnaround, distressed and growth capital transactions. Many of these transactions have made multiple bolt-on acquisitions in the UK and internationally. Exit routes have included initial public offerings, trade sales and secondary private equity sales. Giles is an experienced non-executive chairman and director, having served on the boards of multiple private companies including: Pinnacle Regeneration Group, a social housing operator; Palatinate Schools, a private schools operator; and Ryness Electrical, retailer of wiring accessories and related goods. He is currently Non-executive Chairman of Whittard of Chelsea and Luceco plc, and a Non-Executive Director of The Reader Organisation, a not-for-profit educational charity. He has extensive public markets experience gained as a corporate finance advisor at Baring Brothers International and at EPE. This includes a particular focus on investment trusts, having been investment advisor or investment manager to a number of listed investment vehicles whilst at EPE, including the Equity Partnership Investment Company plc (2001-2011), EPIC Brand Investments plc (2003-2005) and ESO plc (2003-present).
In the period between 2001 and 2006, when he led the buyout of EPE, Giles was a founding director of EPIC Investment Partners, a fund management business which at sale in 2007 had US$5 billion under management. Prior to EPIC Investment Partners, Giles spent five years working in mergers and acquisitions at Baring Brothers International in Paris and London and subsequently at ING Barings in London advising governments and corporates.

Antoine Del Serra - Managing Director, Advisory and Placement
Antoine is a Managing Director of EPE’s Advisory & Placement business. Antoine has over 15 years Mergers & Acquisitions experience advising both corporates and private equity houses in acquisitions, disposals and capital raisings. During a career at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, Deutsche Bank, HSBC and Global Leisure Partners, Antoine built up extensive sector expertise of the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector including Food & Beverages, Household & Personal Care and Retail in both Western and Emerging markets. Antoine graduated from Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and holds an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (USA).

Ibrahim Dessouki - Vice-President, Advisory and Placement
Ibrahim is a Vice-President of EPE’s Advisory & Placement business and has over than 12 years of structured credit experience. He spent 5 years at Wells Fargo where he was a Director, covering German, Austrian and Swiss clients on the structured credit sales desk. Before joining Wells Fargo he worked in business development for Pamplona Credit opportunities fund. He was also a partner at Beagle Management and a VP at Bear Stearns in London. Ibrahim received a BA in international Business with Spanish and Finance from the European Business School.

Amelia is Personal Assistant to Giles Brand. Prior to this, Amelia worked as an Account Executive for Perowne International and had 3 years experience in the luxury travel industry before joining EPE in September 2016. Amelia graduated from Bristol University in 2013 with a degree in Theology.

Robert Fulford - Investment Director
Robert worked at Barclaycard Consumer Europe before joining EPE. Whilst at Barclaycard, Robert was the Senior Manager for Strategic Insight and was responsible for identifying, analysing and responding to competitive forces. Prior to Barclaycard, Robert spent four years as a strategy consultant at Oliver Wyman Financial Services, where he worked with a range of major retail banking and institutional clients in the UK, mainland Europe, Middle East and Africa, specialising in strategy and risk modelling. He manages the investments in Nexus Industries and Whittard of Chelsea, where he is currently a non-executive director. Robert read Engineering at the University of Cambridge.

Vincent Gimenez - Director, Advisory and Placement
Vincent is a Director of EPE’s Advisory & Placement business. He is also Transaction Team leader responsible for the execution of Capital, Advisory and Placement transactions. Vincent has 12 years experience of mergers and acquisitions advisory encompassing all aspects of private and listed corporates including acquisitions, mergers, disposals, initial public offerings, rights issues, debt financing and bond issuances. He started career at Robert W. Baird with a focus on mid-market cross border transactions in the capital goods and consumer sectors. He subsequently joined HSBC where he covered global construction and UK real estate. Before joining EPE he was at UBS, focussed on large-cap building materials companies in the EMEA region. In the course of his career, Vincent has been involved in transactions in the distribution, packaging, technology and media sectors. He graduated from ESCP EAP and IEP Paris.

James Henderson - Investment Director
James worked in the Investment Banking division of Deutsche Bank before joining EPE. Whilst at Deutsche Bank he worked on a number of M&A transactions and IPOs in the energy, property, retail and gaming sectors, as well as providing corporate broking advice to mandated clients. He manages the investment in Pharmacy2U. James read Modern History at the University of Oxford and Medicine at the University of Nottingham.

David Herbert - Chairman, Advisory and Placement
David is Chairman of EPE’s Advisory & Placement business. He is a former Chairman of Exillon Energy plc and non-executive director of GNG Retail Public Limited and MT Petrol Group. Prior to this, David spent 20 years as Managing Director and Head of Emerging Europe Corporate Finance at Baring Brothers/ING Barings. Before Barings, David was a senior executive at BP for 11 years. David read Economics at Trinity College Dublin and holds a doctorate from Brunel University, where he taught for eight years.

Samuel is an Executive at EPE. He was previously an Analyst at EcoMachines Ventures, where he evaluated early-stage investment opportunities in the energy, infrastructure and industrial sectors. Sam read Aerospace Engineering at the University of Bristol.

Alex Leslie - Investment Director
Alex worked in Healthcare Investment Banking at Piper Jaffray before joining EPE. Whilst at Piper Jaffray he worked on a number of M&A transactions and equity fundraisings within the Biotechnology, Specialty Pharmaceutical and Medical Technology sectors. He manages the investments in Process Components, where he is currently a non-executive director, and Luceco plc. Alex read Human Biological and Social Sciences at the University of Oxford and obtained an MPhil in Management from the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge.

Gavin Mailer-Howat - Director, Advisory and Placement
Gavin is a Director of EPE’s Advisory & Placement business and has over 25 years’ experience in asset management and alternative investments. Prior to joining EPE Gavin was Director of Private Equity (Middle East) at Campbell Lutyens a Senior Adviser to Informed Portfolio Management, a Swedish based hedge fund. Prior to Campbell Lutyens, Gavin was as Senior Vice President at the Citco Group and Managing Director of Citco Fund Advisers (UK) Ltd with responsibility for developing the group's alternative investment business. Gavin previously spent six years in the Middle East, initially with National Bank of Bahrain, then as Director Corporate Finance at Bahrain International Bank and later as Regional Director for Murray Johnstone Ltd. Gavin started his career at Kleinwort Benson Investment Management focused on international institutional and private client development. Gavin read Geography at University College London.

Hiren Patel - Managing Partner, Finance Director and Head of Compliance
Hiren is a Managing Partner and EPE’s Finance Director and Compliance Officer. He has worked in the investment management industry for the past ten years. Before joining EPE, Hiren was finance director of EPIC Investment Partners. Before EPIC Investment Partners Hiren was employed at Groupama Asset Management where he was the Group Financial Controller.

Daniel Roddick CFA - Managing Director, Advisory and Placement
Daniel is a Managing Director in EPE’s Advisory and Placement business and leads the Placement business. Daniel has over ten years experience in corporate finance, private equity and strategy consulting. Prior to EPE, Dan was a Vice President at Campbell Lutyens where he assisted in the raising private equity funds, on the sale and restructuring of private equity assets and led the marketing of funds across the Nordic region. Before Campbell Lutyens, he was at McKinsey and Co., working across London, Munich and Amsterdam in the Corporate Finance and Strategy Practice. Dan read Engineering, Economics and Management at the University of Oxford and is a CFA charter holder.
